I told my therapist recently that helping my kids through their emotions has helped me become more open and honest about my own. When you approach things at a child’s level it’s just easier. When I saw this Feelings Spinner I thought what a perfect intro to chatting more about how we’re all feeling (mom included)! It’s super easy - spin the wheel and when it lands ask, “When did you feel like that today?” and then the conversation just flows from there. Even though I learned to stuff down my emotions and keep things bottled up doesn’t mean my kids will be taught the same.

This is a super cute gift for small kids and families. It helps kids identify their feelings 🙂 and talk about their feelings too. I found it to be more fun than I originally thought and it lead to us celebrating good memories too. The spinner was spinning in the first photo but it's going to fast the photo didn't catch the arrow lol. You can see the arrow in the second photo.

The Feelings Spinner is very welcome in our home! I am a #mentalhealth advocate. We talk about feelings in our house and respect (and practice with) our emotions. It’s important work in the human experience, and this spinner is a fantastic tool! I am very pleased to share it and recommend it! Our kids love it, and it helps create a safe environment for them the speak up about their thoughts and feelings."

We often ask the kids how their day was at school. Usually the responses are “I don’t know” or “We played outside!”

The feeling spinner helped us get so much more information out of the kids about their day. The tea was split! 😂 ☕️

Got our Feelings Spinner! My kids are 3 and 4.5, so even though the Feelings Spinner is for ages 4+ I think we’re starting at the perfect time.

They both know basic emotions already.. 🙂☹️😠🤩so now I have a tool to help me start discussing their feelings and their days.

This entire spinner is solid; it’s 3/4 of an inch thick, and the spinning arrow is some sort of thick plastic attached through the wood with smooth hardware. It comes with a stand, too, so it’s not only functional but it’s a nice enough product to keep on a bookshelf or maybe a table top for easy storage without it looking like a board game spinner (which my children also love.. I’ve definitely had to previously endure a cardboard spinner hanging around the main spaces of the house! Lol)

You might think, “well, why do I need a spinner to tell me how to ask my kids about their day/feelings?” Maybe you don’t, but it certainly makes it easier to get a 4 year old’s attention.

It has gotten my kids engaged, captured their interest and made them excited to think about the best parts of their day! Additionally, the fact that it’s a tangible tool, 🤲 and again attractive enough to keep out in a visible location, it serves as a visual reminder or cue for those of us (maybe, for example, a creative and wellness-loving but ADHD-mama) who are forgetful or inconsistent. So I’d definitely recommend the Feelings Spinner for families who want to start these regular conversations! ✨

I'm soooo happy I found this Feelings Spinner! When I saw it, I was thinking about my role as a camp counselor for burn survivor children. Sometimes at the cabin at night, before we go to bed, we chat about being a #burrnsurvivor .
For the kids I've worked with, it is hard for them to talk about feelings. They often don't know how to bring it up and it can come out expressed as negative actions. Talking about it can and often is good for them. This Feelings Spinner is perfect for prompting them to talk.

Even for myself, it can be a good prompt and prevent me from acting out. I can imagine this being used in a family setting where the members of the family can take turns spinning the arrow and expressing their feelings.

Another plus side is that this is a small business. Supporting small business is a great feeling. It feels especially great when the owner writes a small thank you note with the fact that she checked out my YouTube channel! Thank you sooo much Acacia!
